I’ve been thinking what’s the next step in my career gonna be recently and I’m exploring what jobs are out there (of course, right now it’s not a great time) That led me to my old blog post with tactical tips for landing a dream job.

It’s aged really well, given I wrote it 10 years ago. There’s just one thing I’d change now: instead of being prepare to answer the “salary expectations” question, I’d advise to be prepared how NOT to answer this question.

Hiring is a game that has its own rules and one of them is - if you give them a number, they might use it against you. Of course, it might also save you some time interviewing for a company that is not prepared to pay what your minimum is, but just as well it might also cost you a few thousand euros (or much more, depending on the kind of position you’re looking for). I’d rather risk losing a couple of hours in that situation.
